We're looking for a confident, experienced chef to join our busy, seasonal kitchen team in Victoria Park. After a brand new kitchen was installed last month, we've got the perfect place for someone enthusiastic and creative to exercise their food and cooking knowledge. You'll be working alongside 3 experienced chefs preparing a variety of seasonal dishes including pies, fresh pastas, soups, daals and ever changing weekly specials. Experience in open fire cooking, fish, pastry, pasta and seasonal produce is a must.
We are lucky enough to cook with some of the best produce grown in England, some of which we coordinate the growing of ourselves with a team of growers in North London. Being passionate about food is a must - the right candidate will be enthusiastic and excited about the cooking we're doing. Pavilion aims to champion classic, British nostalgic food that is flavour led. We don't serve meat at any of our sites; we're serious about our food having the smallest environmental impact possible. Vegetables, fruit, British dairy produce, fresh fish, and excellent herbs and spices lead the way for us.
We are a small team working in an exceptionally busy cafe kitchen, so it is important for us to find the right person who can crack on, fit in and be confident in their abilities. This is an open kitchen, so the right candidate will be confident talking to customers if needed, and enjoy the interactions between cafe staff, customers and chefs. Serious food experience is a must, but so is the right attitude. We offer great day time hours, an exciting and ever evolving menu and the opportunity to create truly fresh, season led food.
This job is suitable for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience as a chef in a busy restaurant or cafe as the right candidate will need to hit the ground running and exhibit their knowledge straight away.
